Someone's "type" can be VERY flexible. Don't let her friend persuade you that you couldn't date her. But, if in fact she only goes after a certain "type", she's probably not the kind of a girl you want anyways.

This advice is ridiculous. If your worried she may reject you, try flirting and making your intentions clear. Do not listen to the friend. Just because her friend thinks you aren't her type doesn't mean that she wont like you. You sound young, go for the gold!
