I've noticed that many women these days refer to men they deem undesirable as "creeps" or "creepers". It doesn't matter if the man is actually genuinely creepy or not, if he's unattractive, he's given that ridiculous label and humiliated.

When did this trend start and why? I find it to be very juvenile. Thankfully I don't think it's caught on in my country of birth yet and I hope it never does.

What do you think? Have you ever been called a creep or a creeper before? What is a good and effective rebuttal to such nonsense?

Creepiness is the eye of the beholder. There is no such thing as "genuinely creepy," as if there is a concrete definition. A creep is someone you don't like and don't appreciate attention from. That is a feeling that stems from within and there is no explaining it away.

In my book, a creeper is...

A.)The ones who stand at a distance and stare or watch you.
B.) The much older men who approach younger women.
C.) Guys who get angry or aggressive if a woman rejects him

Has nothing to do with looks and everything to do with how a guy is acting.

I think it started about 50,000 years ago. There have always been men who have low social skills and just act very weird or strange. They have that semi-crazy look in their eye.

I just had an acquaintance pass away... his nickname by all the women was "Creepy Larry". As a guy, I couldn't tell you why Larry was creepy but all the women got creepy vibes from Larry.

Womens intuition is usually right on.

Yeah, it is getting bad out there now, I have pretty much just given up on dating. I mean, I really don't see the point, miss the companionship, but that's about it. I always seemed to get sideswiped by something new and I can never say anything right, so why bother.

Or the ones that lick their lips and mouth, "I want you".

I'm only 26 and to me a creeper is a vine. I guess I'm no hip to the slang the young people use these days? Or maybe it's an American thing.

I think you need to remove this from your list. As a distinguished older guy I approach many younger women successfully because I know how to do it as a gentleman with grace. Many younger women love us successful older men (and many don't but that's OK).

But then there is the creepy young guy who becomes a creepy older guy.
