I realize there isn't a live voice chat option on this site like there are on other forums. But if there was, would you go on live voice chat on City-Data? Some people are intimidated by live voice chat, while others are used to it because of chatting on other live chat sites or because of chatting live on Xbox/Playstation.

Some are too shy to do it, some are reluctant to do it while others like connecting with people they've never met (and are likely to never meet) in this way. And still, others don't have a headset (ear piece and microphone) and/or they have no interest in owning one; or, they don't think their voice is "attractive" enough to be heard by others (yes, I've actually had someone tell me this!).

Would you do it? Could you do it? And if not, why? I would. I've done it many times. I do this often when I play Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies on Xbox and I think it's THE coolest way to connect with others - in conjunction with as well as instead of - typing endless posts in a forum. It's an interesting way of getting to know other people and it's more direct as it gives the chatters a feeling that they're all together in a room or venue and the vocal communication feels more like a real life social situation.

I will admit, however, that there are some posters on here who I'd NEVER voice chat with; because they're just plain creepy, too judgmental, too misogynistic and - based on what they've written in their posts - someone who I'd NEVER want to converse with in real life.

There's one person I would talk to, but I'm not sure if that's the same as live chat?

There's really no one else.

Yes in theory, it could definitely be wonderful to be have the opportunity to voice chat with some fellow good friends, on C-D! In actual practice though, I prolly wouldn't do it -- if only b/c my computer doesn't have the hardware to do so...plus even if the hardware was added, I have always known that my own voice really isn't really the most pleasant-sounding in the world unfortunately, much as I wish otherwise, so I would be way too shy to even try IRL...

Some people, yes, but with others I'd worry whether they had pants on.

Same here. I wouldn't have any issue skyping with someone from here and have done it in the past.

I would have to have built some kind of rapport with the person though. I wouldn't just chat with a random person because they invite me to.

Hahaha. Tried to rep you.

I think it would be great to hear some voices. I heard a few already and they have great voices.

My voice is a high falsetto and I'm embarrassed to use voice chat.
