well, all those things mentioned MIGHT be possible if the man is the sole breadwinner
tho my mom used to tell me that it's not necessarily true(that women will be satisfied with the man as the sole breadwinner), that no matter how much a man makes its never enough and she'll always want more...
Blech! I'm a SAHM, I plan dinner the night before and have it ready when my husband gets home for work. But that's so we can all sit down and eat together and I want to eat something decent. Whatever, it works.
The rest of it? Yeah sure. I try to pick up clutter because it hurts like a b*tch when I step on it. The cheese factor of it is just overwhelming.
When my son was a toddler, a friend of mine visited with her mother. Mom was giving me advice. I was to put the kids to bed at 5:30 (yes, 5:30!) so that I could be available for my husband to wait on him at dinner. I was to get my way through the secretive use of feminine wiles. But the most important thing was that he could never know I was manipulating him. I was naive at the time. I said why the hell would I need to be manipulative? If I want something, I go get it. My friend almost died laughing.
I would have been so constrained under the expectations of old. I'd have made a crappy wife.

I think I would be very uncomfortable with a wife that was like June Cleaver..that plastic smile is probably hiding an axe murder's mind...baaaaaad deal.
I would like the type of wife that would read a guide like this.
