I'm 27 but probably look 20-21 tops. Some still think I'm a teenager. My father is in his 60s yet people think he's late 40s. I still don't look like a rugged 'man', unless perhaps I grow out my facial hair, which I sometimes do, but that's not my look anyway.
At this age, I can date anyone 18 and up, and I seem to be meeting a lot of people younger than me. I notice a lot of guys my age look old, some of them like they're going on 40 lol.
It's a pretty silly thing, and of course it wouldn't decide who I dated, but i'm wondering if you think it makes sense to aim younger? I mean as long as they're mature age isn't a number: although 22 to 30 is my preference, but when I start dating again, hopefully soon, I'm wondering if I should focus more on the 20-24 year old cohort. In terms of relationship experience it would also make sense too. It's funny even with women my age, some of them treat me a bit like I'm much younger than them, lol.
Not necessarily. If that's your preference, yes. But just looking older doesn't, for everybody (in fact, not for most people) mean you're of a younger mindset. You've been through more experiences, you're a different person no matter how much "cool" music you play or how you wear your hair. No matter how much younger you may think your mindset is, if you're even thinking the idea of "I have a younger mindset!", then you're not young, LOL. People who really are young just don't need to think that thought.
So no. Looking younger doesn't automatically mean dating younger in general will be a satisfying thing for either of you.
Again, if it's a preference, then it is, and certainly many people do date younger and are very happy. But even if you look younger...you're not. That's just a fact. You've lived more life than the younger person has, and there's no going back from that.
Just date whom you're attracted to regardless of age. Younger women (and men) are considered more attractive so you likely will be drawn to them. Good luck .
I don't think I quite look my age, but I would not say that means it would make sense to date younger.
By all means, it is ok to date younger (not too young) but you have to realize that younger is not always better.
In my case, younger may mean not as established in life, not much life experience, etc and that is certainly not fun in the long run.
I did date/hang out with a man who was around 6 years younger than me and it was fun, but I could not see myself settling down with him or someone like him....

A tremendous amount of people who are 30, 35-ish plus (I don't know how old you are but I thought I'd point this out as a general thing) do think we look younger than our ages. That's because when we were young, "older" was expressed in a much more definitive way than it is now. Our moms got mommy haircuts, our parents stopped wearing fun clothes. Because we don't necessarily feel confined to doing the same things, we see ourselves as "looking younger" than our ages.
I think that's what's behind the phenomenon of people thinking they look younger. We can't all possibly look younger than our ages, LOL.
Also, beware of the "you look younger than your age" thing...it's only said when the person does realize you're older. (Or maybe I'm just seeing the glass as half-empty?) I mean think about it. People don't tell young people they look young.
I get told all the time that I look "so young" and it bugs me...it always feels false to me and it also is always meant as a compliment which translates to, "...because looking younger is THE great thing, it's the goal!" Not for me! My goal is to be happy.
I'm not saying all this to make anybody sad, I'm just trying to point out that we should feel happy whether we "look younger" or not and that being above-20s is okay. It really is.
If you like younger date younger, as long as they are of legal age of course. If people don't like it that is their problem not yours. I am dating someone in his 20's and if people don't like that I can care less.
