it doesn't mean that she is marriage material, it just wouldn't preclude her from being marriage material.

Many guys here have stated that they will not see a woman as wife material if she has sex too early. They need a woman to wait, or they cannot take her seriously. So she waits, because he needs that.

no, you're confusing two different things.

men have an instinctive issue where we don't want a woman who has slept with a ton of other guys. (internet white knights notwithstanding.)

women have an instinctive issue where you don't want a man to use your for sex and then dip out.

waiting isn't something either gender seems to want, per se, it seems to be a sort of natural compromise for both sides to feel relatively secure about the situation.
