A server that works at Steak-N-Shake noticed that one woman would routinely come in by herself to have lunch. She seemed to be over 80 years-old, but she’d come in every day, sit down and have a quiet lunch.

Then, the server realized she wasn’t alone at all. In fact, the woman brought her husband with her. Sitting on the table next to her was a picture of her late husband. After he passed, she never failed to have lunch with him.

When people you love die, it's important to many of us to maintain that contact in whatever way possible. This does seem like a great way to do that.

That could also be perceived as not moving on, which means holding onto one's grief. I could maybe see the woman in the article doing this once a month or perhaps once a year on their anniversary - but every single day? If a 40 year old woman were doing this, would it still be sweet or would we be telling her this isn't good for her, she needs to move on? Is it just because the woman is old that we think she doesn't have much time left anyway to have a life without her husband?

it says she was over 80 yrs old
cut her some slack-when people get that old, most of their friends are dead or dying, she very well could be the oldest in her family,,,she may live alone, and facing mortality
some families are pretty screwed up and pay little attention to the old folks..

my hat is off to her-she is still getting around, and more of her life is behind her than ahead of her- she probly relives, some happier times, in memories, and its probly comforting to have his picture there

if you've ever seen the movie..the notebook..
what two people can share, and how they are completed /connected to each other is quite the reminder, that when you lose, or start to lose someone very very close,,you can lose part of yourself
and you will do anything to try to fill the emptiness

My grandfather just passed away. My grandparents were married 70 years. My grandmother is having a difficult time. That's when you actually become apart of one another.
