Seriously if you're short, and a bit small, then you can make up for it in other ways. However if you're short, small and have a insecure attitude then women will run away.
Like anything else size is a preference just like hair color, eye color, body type. Some women like a bigger member. Some not so much, or find large to be painful.

Yeah, again, when I think back on it, I come to the realization that the sex I had in my teens was generally, consistently better, because I could still get all in without tons of drama. It continued to get larger through my early 20's; I've had a few long-term girlfriends who got used to it, but now, back in the singles life/dating world... it usually takes awhile before they're ready for it. OP: Foreplay is a much bigger thing for women than men; we're generally ready to go as soon as we're up... but, with women, it's a different matter. Again, in my experience, if they are going to O from penetration then they're probably primed from foreplay; I learned that it's much easier to get in after a lot of foreplay (often like, 30-60 minutes worth). Don't be afraid of using a toy on her, either. Do it well enough and she won't care one way or the other once you're in, I promise.
So, there you have it: I have what most men are supposed to want, but I can complain about it just as much as the OP. Ultimately, it really is a matter of confidence, self-worth, knowing how to treat a woman to get her there in the first place, and then having a general outline of what most women want when it comes to sex and intimacy.
