We do not work together and we don't work in the same department. It's a large company. I met him walking past his department on the way to mine. He and I would chat sometimes. He asked for my number and we started talking on the phone. We discussed going out for fun sometime after work. However, I am not sure how I feel about him. He seems nice. Should I get to know him more?

Sure.

If you both handle anything that happens maturely, you should be fine.

Half of CD is people complaining about never getting a date.

The other half complains because they do.

this is what lunch dates, and coffee dates are for, to get to know someone to see if you want to get more serious or not. by your account the guy seems nice, and is apparently interesting to you, and interested in you, and you apparently have some interest in him, so why not go out?

make it a date where you meet him some where, not where he picks you up, remember safety first.

What kind of question is that? Is there other way to find out? Are you curious or not? If not, then let it be...
Do you really need our permission?
