I had a 3 week long trek in Aug '17 on my mind and was soon going to start planning it. It means that I will not be able to take any additional time off work from now until then. I also have to plan this right now since things get more expensive the longer I wait.

A couple weeks ago I met this girl who I hit it off with. So far we have been only on one date (I was out of the country briefly but we have been chatting) it looks promising as we like each other and there is a lot of mutual chemistry. However, she has also brought up travel and indicated to me the places she wants to go soon and hopes we could go together.

How do I deal with this? Since we are not even in any kind of relationship yet (heck I have not even kissed or held her hand yet!!!) should I just go ahead with my plans? Should I tell her that I am going through with my trek in August? If so, when should I break this news and is it reasonable for her to be disappointed that I am planning things without her in mind?

I just felt that if she is not officially my girlfriend then I should go ahead with my plans, but it would not be ideal if things work out I guess since I would prefer to do a trip with her... but I also do not want to take a huge risk and not do my trek since it's something that I really want to do.

Thoughts? Would you hold off on your long term plans for something that may not pan out?

Never, ever put your plans on hold for a woman. Especially this early in the relationship. If you do, she won't respect you for it.
Mod cut. never second guess yourself.

Will waiting another month for a trip 9 months ahead really make a huge difference in $$ and planning?

I have the specific airline, specific dates and very specific itinerary picked out that works the best for me and the fares for that trip are already fluctuating.. right now it's the lowest it's been. The cost went up and down again in the past few days so I want to lock the fare in.

In addition, the trek I am doing is in the most popular season and I want to do it with a specific provider that has only 6 spaces left for that particular date that works for me best.

It would be a huge mistake to arrange your plans around someone after one date. Even after one month honestly.

Odd that she is trying to plan vacations with you before the two of you have even kissed yet! She is acting like your both already in a LTR.

Make your plans and enjoy your August trek. If things work out with her over the long haul, there will be plenty of opportunities for couples trips and events down the road.

You don't even know if you two will last until the summer. It seems to me she's really jumping the gun by talking about travel when you've only just met her and had one date. I wonder if she's fantasizing about the wedding, too?
