Here's the link to the Five Love Languages Home | The 5 Love Languages®

If you click on each language at the top, it gives you a sentence to describe the category.

My ex-husband showed love to me by Acts of Service, i.e. checking my car, changing the oil before I took a road trip to visit friends. That's how he showed love.

For me, I think it's important to recognize how you show love to someone, but also be aware of how they might like to receive it. Someone who values quality time together is not going to be overjoyed that you bought them a gift but don't spend much time together.

I think being aware of the Love Languages is actually extremely helpful, and it's not just love relationships, it's all of them, parent/child, etc. It's learning to give what someone else needs, not what you need.

Do you make the pasta sauce or pour it out of a bottle?
