Since this forum is filled with over-analysis of all of the usually meaningless actions of others, I thought I would offer this one up for you all:

I've being seeing this guy in a FWB situation. He came over on Sunday, and before he left he gave me the usual sensual kiss that he gives before heading out the door.

However, this time after he kissed me, he sort of enveloped me in his arms in a big hug and kissed my hair, then held me there for maybe about a half a minute.

Let's analyze his actions to death now. Go!

First I would like to know what you think it means and if you think that he thinks that you think that is what he means.
Seriously unless you think it means the same thing that he thinks it means and that he thinks that you think it means the same thing and you think that he thinks it means the same thing that you think it means I would have no way to even start analyzing what he actually means by his actions.

Know what I mean?

Aww come on; you're taking the fun out of it!

I know exactly what it means. I kind of want to see what others say.

I think it means he likes the smell of your new shampoo, and for this reason he has decided to skip the fwb part and wife you up.

Could be that he got philosophical/existential, felt the brevity & ephemerality of life,
and wanted to savor the connection just a little more intently for a moment.

We're all getting older every day-perhaps this person had a flash of mortality,
sensed the fleeting nature of life and those we hold dear,
and that motivated him to prolong the closing gesture/embrace.

Maybe he'd had a crummy day & appreciated the hug especially.

Perhaps the the OP's hair really did smell super nifty on that occasion.

Any, all, or none of the above are possible explanations...
it could "mean" anything, something, or nothing...we'll probably never know.
