I recently met a guy at a networking event, we hit it off and went out the next day. Obviously, as it was a first date, I dressed nicely, sweater, nice jeans and boots. so we hung out again but I wore a long cardigan and chucks. Which is pretty much my "uniform". He made a comment oabout me not having any nice jewelry. I said no. (moreso bc I can't afford it, not because I don't like it ). I haven't gotten comments on my appearance from men in the past about being a plain Jane or a tomboy. I honestly feel like men are trying to change me to someone really feminine and girly. Are there men out there that are attracted to women that are tshirt and jeans, sports loving and not girly?

Understand that wearing Chuck Taylors and casual attire doesn't make you "unfeminine." Neither does liking sports.

Also, I would think it was weird if a guy commented on my not wearing nice jewelry.

A Kay's commercial was on during a football game. But I'm into sports and have mostly guy friends. So that's why I feel this way.

Not me, although the sports loving is fine. Its not that difficult to dress more feminine, which would certainly enhance your dating life.

I think there are a lot of guys out there who would love someone a little "lower maintenance". Not implying anything like you being a cheap date but someone a little more down to earth. Don't let it stop you or change you if you run into a few guys who don't appreciate who you are.

I wear jeans and nice shirts every day. Only way I date. However my daily jewelry is diamonds.

I have never had a guy say anything about the way I dress. And I have met 32 guys since the beginning if august.

I am very low maintenance and rarely even put on makeup

This can mean anything. Were the boots sexy or boring? WAs the sweater formless or fitted tightly to show your curves. Turn off turtle neck? Boring business cardigan or classy?

I either wear dresses or TIGHT jeans and TIGHT sweater for a first date to show off my assets without showing skin (staying classy).

You wanna dress up and impress a little on a first date. If you look at the guys, you will notice that every decent guy dresses up as well. It is just proper attire.

I dont wear any jewelry, never gotten a comment about it. Weird.

It is winter - whatever you wear, if you add sexy boots to it, you are good to go. Doesn't even have to be with high heels.

There are so many boots (up until the knee) that are super sexy and turn any outfit around. Most guys I know loooove boots on women. I often wear plane jane stuff to work and add boots to it and it just rocks.

These are not even super feminine but look amazing

Dressing up for a date shows that you not only respect yourself, but also the time, $, and effort a man is putting into dating you. Not that you have to put on heels and be something you're not.. There are a million ways to take it up a notch or 2 from 'casual' and still be comfortable.

The second time the guy wore a hoodie and jeans. We were just watching football. I've never dressed up for something like this.
