I was looking on yahoo answers and found a question from someone was 31 and had not yet kissed another person. He asked people how they would feel. One woman answered "I would shoot myself."

I am 30 now, but pretty soon I will be in the same boat as the asker. So, should people really shoot themselves because they're 31 and never kissed anyone?

I have no idea why I'm asking this and almost can't believe I am...maybe I'm just hoping someone will say it's not so awful that you need to unload a gun into your body because of it...

Kissing can be fun, but not worth shooting yourself over.

I would not go on any forum or thread comment section provided by Yahoo. A lot of sick people there (i.e.. trolls).

I mean, I don't really want to shoot myself, but yes, I feel terrible about it and I wish every day that it wasn't true. I wish so much that I wasn't in this situation, but I am.

It's not worth shooting yourself, believe me.

The hardest thing I've had to learn was to stop comparing myself to others.

It's YOUR life. You have to live it according to your timetable. Sometime you will come across stupid stuff like that, but you have to learn to blow it off.

The combination of being in this situation and knowing that society in general thinks our lives are worthless is a difficult pill to swallow.

There are many negative reactions, "I would shoot myself" being just one of them. There's also "WHAT?" "Oh my god," "Are you SERIOUS?" "How is that possible?" "Oh man, that SUCKS."

I could fill a book with them.

This is overly personal, oh well--I didn't choose this, in case I didn't mention that before. It just happened, unfortunately.

What is this world coming to?

But seriously more than likely those were trolls.

Not having kissed anyone isn't a big deal.

Seriously. I sometimes find it funny there, but it's mind-numbing. Now people can post there anonymously, so as you can imagine, so many more troll posts have popped up.

Yahoo Answers doesn't represent the world, though. Most of the answerers are bored teenagers.

Obviously it is not worth shooting yourself over. Just the answer that it is is super glib. Look at the threads on this forum, you aren't alone.

That's the problem with Generation Y, we were all told we could be anything in the world if we just work hard enough and then the big race started: 'who is living his/her life to the fullest?'. We all have access to the internet and facebook, so we constantly compare ourselves with others. You have to get your first kiss by 16, loose your v-card by 18, get a degree by 25, travel the world, land your first successfull job by 26, get your first promotion by 28, get married by 30 and please hurry up to get several children 'til 35, then retire and wait till death shows up... sure.

If you don't follow this 'ideal life plan' society suggests there must be something seriously wrong with you or alternatively your life is wasted.

But, who cares? It's your life. Do whatever you want. Most people are deluded anyway. The only promotion we'll all get is death.

Default y

Yahoo answers is stupid. Me and my mom link each other to questions and answers on there for a laugh. Not to be taken seriously at all.
