Right now, I'm on the night shift and will be for the forseeable future. It's the only time I can meet women now and I'm usually waltzing around the area from 11 PM to about 3 AM. During this time, I do spot women walking by that I find quite attractive.
It's not a bustling time, all the streets are calm and nobody is really out. It's usually just me and the occasional car/taxi that passes by. What's the protocol for hitting on girls this late at night? It's not exactly like a bar or giant social gathering, it's just her and me in this lonely street.
I'm going to assume you're a normal guy looking to meet someone, but this is not the way to do it...sounds like you lurk about in the shadows watching women as they come and go, hoping for eye contact and a smile at three in the goddamned morning. Come on, man. I used to give female friends and co-workers mace just for guys like you.
Whether you're a decent guy or not, no thinking woman will be open to meeting an eager stranger on a dark street (or even a well-lit subway car) at an odd hour. You sound like a vampire.
You really want to hit on girls that are walking around the streets at 3am? You might want to up the bar on Quality if its a relationship you are after, if its just a novelty sexual encounter you are after just walk up to them and tell them of your needs chances are good they'll fulfill those needs,perhaps for a price.

If a woman was out that late at night and approached by a stranger on the street who was making a play for her, she may suspect him of foul play and try to get away. She's going to be on guard and feel threatened. Not a good way to go about meeting women. There are plenty of better options.
