Getting a date canceled is so deflating (dates, women, call)

Maybe something came up! Don't think she's canceling already. Give her some time to respond. You never know what's going on, if her phone died, or whatever; it could be anything.
Then, a few months ago, I had a date set up with a girl. I figured that she might flake so I set up the date at a sushi place that I frequent, figuring that it's convenient and I could just go there anyway if she flaked.
I sent a confirmation message about 4 hours before the date. She didn't respond. When it got to be about 45 minutes before the date, I stopped checking my phone. I was dejected, but hungry. So I went to get sushi alone. I ate quickly (they knew me well over there) and was in and out in about 20 minutes. I was sad that she flaked, but got over it pretty quickly since I was expecting it.
About 3 hours after our scheduled date, I began using my phone to schedule plans with some friends that night. Turned out I got a bunch of messages asking where I was and stating that she was there. In the end, I flaked on her. She was not pleased.
I dont get it because a couple of nights ago she was saying stuff like "well next time maybe i wont fall asleep on your arm"
and " yea you had your heat to high turn it down!"
and "so do you miss seeing my awesome face yet"
and "you know you should miss me"
and "netx time remind yourself to show me"
Did you meet this person online by chance? Some of the type bait she sent you is typical crap you send when you're looking for an ego boost. It would take dates and hours upon hours of time before women would just come out and say they kinda miss me with a flirty emoji or something. She's basically baiting you to make her feel good, because there's really only one logical way to answer this question. You're sure can't say no, unless you know you don't want to see that person again. Sounds like game playing to me...
