I'm sure as many posts you have on here defending motorcycle riders you have a deep love for them. I'm happy that you are so smart. You don't know the OP and his situation with his wife. I don't either but when your income gets cut because you can't go to work because of an injury then his wife does have a say so.
We don't know his financial situation. Let the wife have the last word since she is going to directly affected.
