Well,I want to ask him if he sees a future with me and talk about one of us relocating .I feel like I'm ready at this point in my life. I haven't really connected with anyone since we part ways.Distance is the was the only thing in the way soI feel like we can make it work if we resolve it
Sure, go ahead and ask him that. He'll probably tell you exactly what you want to hear, give you all the lip service, until he meets someone else. If you werent enough for him the first time, what makes you think you will be the second time?

Yep...everything I ever tried to go back to never worked...relationships, jobs etc. You moved on for a reason. You can't move forward effectively, if you keep looking backwards, you'll stumble.

Agreed that you should address direct questions to him regarding why you should take him back
I have me one of those serial repeaters! I dumped him 5 years ago and he flew back to the East Coast. Every few months, he gets lonely/drunk/horny/nostalgic/between girlfriends and texts me. (I've had the same phone number for close to a decade.)
I do not know about you and your situation, but I've never taken a guy back once we've broken up. Show's over, folks, time to leave the popcorn on the floor. In my humble opinion.
