I know someone who is enabling a past felonious man with a CSC reformed convict converted in church to pursue and marry a widow who is ten years younger and a Social Work professional. The person want to see the best for their friend so they are recommending the felonious person to continue advances and pursue this widow. The widow is in the process of graduating with an advanced degree and hopes to find a lucrative job and eventually adopt a child. The widow is not interested in the man but his friend keeps encouraging him and telling her she should consider him as a blessing. I feel for the widow as she has ignored his advances but he will not take no for an answer. She has no family but church family, and is a fairly young widow. The widow has even done research to see what she is dealing with and found he is registered sex offender, from a past offense in the 80's on the offender registry. This is all in a church setting. He has never stalked or threatened her. He says he is fully reformed. Should she give him a chance?

Yes you should give him a chance because the church talks about forgiveness and redemption.

She should RUN. He is a registered sex offender. Maybe it's just me, but that would be a deal breaker for me.

Keep saying NO.

Why isn't the widow interested in him? Does he have a decent job? Does he have friends and a social network? When was he released? What has he done to better himself since?

If she's not interested, why is this even a post?

Use common sense, if it doesn't seem right it probably isn't!

Sex offender and future adoption plans don't go together. I can forgive a lot, but a sex offense is one thing I can't forgive generally.

No she should stand her ground--not interested.

Let's see.

Convicted sex offender.

Uninterested younger widow with advanced degree who is considering adopting.

Friends who keep pushing him onto her.

If I were the woman in question, I'd be asking for a restraining order against him and his friends.

Her friend needs to BTFO and let her choose her own companion.
