I'm just curious...

Do you think a relationship that only lasted 6 months or so (and is now over) could be love?

Does it matter? The relationship is over, so why try to quantify the emotions involved? What do you get out of it?

People experience (and define) love in their own ways based on expectations, views and perceptions.

So it really doesn't matter what I think.

I was just wondering...if it's because of something specific, or the people just weren't compatible, or if it was just that it wasn't love?

I'm just curious, because I've heard that if it lasts 3 months, then it usually works out. I just don't see many relationships that last 6-7 months. Usually it seems they're either 1-3 months, or over a year.

Works out how? They get married? They have a long relationship? There have been many relationships that made it past the three month mark and fizzled. I have seen a few relationships last 6-7 months. I had one myself that only lasted 6 months. In the cases I saw (myself included) the couples only got together because they just wanted to be in a relationship. Even if one or both parties wasn't really into the other person being coupled up was seen as being better than single. I also think that my ex and I weren't very compatible. Anyways I learned my lessons from that and I have to say being single is way better than being in a relationship that is all wrong for you.

Sure, it could be love. There really isn't a timeframe for love to develop (but I would be wary the "fall in love at first sight" concept, as that is more likely to be lust). Anyway, you can fall in love yet be incompatible or bad for each other, so love is not enough to sustain a relationship.

Who knows? Every relationship is as different as the individuals involved.
