don't break other people's stuff. You got what you deserved. You cannot put this all on her. Sorry, dudette, that's all I have to say.
What the heck? NOBODY deserves to get beaten for breaking something like a phone, especially if the perpetrator is one’s partner and there was arguably reason for one to get angry (suspected cheating). Mod cut.

Reason: Personal attack.
I'm not being selfish at all. I feel like I can really help a child in need. That's why we decided to go with adoption over in vitro. We've hit a bump in the road but I think it's just a one off thing that can be fixed through therapy. I'm 24 and I really don't want to wait much longer to start my family.
Yes you are being selfish bring a kid into a relationship where your girlfriend friend....as you said beat the crap out of you. For the child’s sake your sake put off the adoption.

OP did not get beaten for breaking the phone. She got slapped because of the phone... which set her off on attacking the GF. One could make the argument that the OP was trying to beat the GF here. The OP is trying to play victim here by using her small(er) size in this fight, of which BOTH were willful participants. I don't know why she bothers with this argument, the small ones are oftentimes vicious and mean little fighters.
I don't even know if it's arguably reason in this situation. The OP doesn't seem to think that the GF actually cheated, just that she was triggered by her own history.
