I don't have a lot of confidence and when I go out I feel unable to talk to girls. It's not that I don't have anything to say, but it's more to do with how I look. I'm not bad looking but I'm not very built, and I see guys who have much better physiques than me doing very well. Somebody suggested that I could get muscle pads or shirts with padding. I know they were joking but I thought about it and maybe this would help, although I think I'd also feel a bit silly. Is it a good idea? Should I try it and see if it makes any difference?
At some point if the relationship becomes physical you're going to have to reveal that part of you is fake. I'm female with modest breast size, and I would never wear a padded bra for that reason.
Maybe they're sensing your lack of self-confidence in how you look? I like timberline's suggestion, though- try the natural approach.

Why don't you just do the work and be the real deal? You can do it!

The problem is when she takes your shirt off she'll figure out real quick that she's been scammed and probably won't be too happy about it, and I wouldn't blame her one bit. Generally if you're not obese your physique isn't going to be much if any problem. This is entirely you projecting your own insecurities, and from what I've seen lack of confidence tends to be a big turnoff with women. Just try talking with them about things they're interested in, you'd be surprised at the results.
Let's say you hit it home with a girl, you get to the bedroom, and you take off your muscle pads, how embarrassing is that?
It's like if the girl takes off her bra and have half her sock-drawer falling out.
Also a good physique will not do you any good if you don't have confidence in social situations to begin with. I had good physique, but I also have (still) social anxiety.
The physique I had never mattered as a consequence.
So you're a skinny or thin guy that's ''Not built''? Or you're a chubby/overweight guy? Losing weight is easy if it's that. That's no problem at all. I lost over 100 pounds and have kept it off for around 9 years or so. It will be 10 years on February 18th that I started.
If you're just a skinny or thin guy, what's to be embarrassed about? I see a lot of out of shape dudes walking around (some with good looking women), so if you're a thin guy that's not built, that's really not anything to be embarrassed about. If that's the case, I think you're thinking too much and really reaching.
And if it it's you being overweight, that's easier to correct than anything.
