Well, they were the last to text but after a day. I'll just text something like "hey!" then leave it at that. Oh well, I guess I have been mostly spending time working and have not made any effort into meeting new people. I guess I need to do that and not rely just on the old ones.
Funny thing about the woman I was referring to...she is the type that HAS to have people around her all the time. She hates being alone. Yet now that she has that stupid phone, she makes whomever she is with feel like THEY are alone.
Ya know, I have a BlackBerry and yes...it is with me nearly everywhere I go. But there are times when it's just not cool to be using it. A person has to know those boundaries if they expect to maintain good relationships.
And the irony is that she doesn't have time to get back to me. It must be exhausting having to check and re-check facebook, twitter, email, text, the picture someone just sent, that youtube video and so on.
If they are texting and answering calls from and to other people when they are with you, sound to me like your not that important or interesting to them. It may be a hint!

Yes, I know. I think to be interesting I need to be an A hole. But I won't go there.
Also, I don't think most people wouldn't be interesting enough. And sitting there having dinner with someone on an I Phone is definetely not interesting for me.
That's all. Just a rant for friends, dates, or whoever who take a day to reply to a text, when it only takes 30 seconds. Then when you are hanging out with them they are checking their I Phones every 3 minutes and texting/emailing other people in front of you. I just realized I am too busy to text these people back now. Maybe I'll find some time when I'm on the toilet.
In the situation you described, it is indeed reasonable to expect them to reply sooner. Texts aren't meant for entire conversations anyhow. They should be able to get back to you within a few hours either way, but if they're checking their phones every few minutes (which, if you're in person with them, is very rude), then they should be able to answer. If I don't answer within 10 minutes, I'm either busy at work or I didn't hear it ping.
