The passages about witches in the Bible are mistranslations.

Are you suggesting we should return to the Salem witch trials and burn women like the "True Christians" did centuries ago?

Hmm, let's see. Children dress up in costumes and go from house to house begging for candy. In our neighborhood, the adults drive the kids around on decorated lighted golf carts and trailers and have a fun evening.
This kind of fun must be stamped out. Obviously the devil's work.

halloween has become just another way for merchants to exploit people with overpriced junk....another of many examples of commercialism gone bad....most people know nothing about where or how halloween came about.....they just know it's another day where they must cater to the greed of complete strangers.....yes...halloween IS evil.

I agree with you. Although, children do enjoy the trick or treat process (I sure did when I was a kid), it is much better to have a home-made costume than opt for one that is cheap and made in China. As far as the whole commercialism thing, it's a joke. A couple of Jack-o-lanterns is definitely the best decoration. not only can you roast and eat the seeds (yum yum), but they do a good job of lighting the way for the spirits of our ancestors.

What I don't understand is how come Hallmark hasn't "created" a big holiday for August! It's the *only* month that doesn't have a card giving opportunity. LOL Good lord isn't Xmas bad enough? Enough already.

tricking us into thinking ghouls and goblins are "fun" and ghosts are "cute"
That's the devil's biggest trick....to get us to think that halloween is not evil. .

"During many ages there were witches. The Bible said so. The Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live. Therefore the Church, after doing its duty in but a lazy and indolent way for 800 years, gathered up its halters, thumbscrews, and firebrands, and set about its holy work in earnest. She worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One does not know whether to laugh or to cry."
Mark Twain

I think the OP should stop living in the past. Halloween is just a whole lot of fun.
