Billy Graham’s grandson steps down from Florida megachurch after admitting an affair - The Washington Post

He is a senior pastor with a mega Church in Fort Lauderdale, finds out his wife has an affair, and rather than doing what pastors should do, praying to the God that they feel and preach everyone else should pray to when they are faced with a crisis, turns around and finds solace in a female friend and has a revenge affair himself.

Of course, we get the standard type apology letter saying how they have fallen from grace and please have everybody pray that the God they preach about would stand by them.

What a bunch of hypocrites. Of course, we're going to hear excuses that no one is perfect, we are all fallen, and forgiveness is the mark of a true Christian.

Maybe the mark of a true Christian, especially those that are pastors or preachers or leaders in a church, is to actually live what they preach. Maybe they should use their big head to do the thinking rather than the little head. Isn't it interesting how many atheists marriages do not fall apart due to adultery, but actually stay together because people involved in them actually believe in each other then some Sky Fairy. Who has the true morality?

Could say it's just a FAMILY TRADITION...

I knew a good number of 'born agains' who were oh so holy in church on Sunday, but have cheated on their partners. The pastor of the pentecostal church I attended as a kid, who was driving me home from the mid week youth meeting when I was 14, stroked my thigh as he told me how beautiful my mother was. A church elder told me exactly what he would like to do with my mother in his hay loft!

He could have issued a simple statement: "I sinned. I did something wildly inappropriate. I'm stepping down."

Instead he had to say say, "Well, she did it first!!" He sounds like a 5-year-old. Churches need mature adults leading them.
