For those that don't know some of the other creation stories, here is the Hindu ( very ) short version.
In Hindu cosmology, the universe runs in 311 TRILLION, 40 BILLION year cycles, over and over forever. Each manifestation of the universe lasts for 4.32 BILLION years, at which point it is destroyed and remains uncreated for another 4.32 BILLION years , then is recreated for 4.32 billion years, then destroyed and more nothingness for an additional 4.32 billion years. Each of these 4.32 billion years of existence is a Brahma day, with the 4.32 billion years of nothingness the Brahma night. This repeats itself over and over for 100 Brahma YEARS ( 311 trillion, 40 billion human years ) , and then Brahma dies. After 100 Brahma years ( 311 trillion,40 billion human years) of nothingness , a new Brahma is born and the cycle of 4.32 billion years of existence followed by 4.32 billion years of nonexistence for another 100 Brahma years ( 311 trillion, 40 billion human years ) starts over , followed by the death of that Brahma at the end of that 100 Brahma years and then another 311 trillion 40 billion years of non existence before yet another Brahma is born and starts the cycle again. Over and over forever.
I find the ability to think and develop mythology around these numbers amazing.
I'm seeing a problem there. The universe is some 14.7 billion years old already and the solar system is over 4.5 billion years old. I also don't understand "311 trillion 40 billion years". Would that be 311,040 billion years (311,040,000,000,000 yr)?
Universe is BELIEVED to be whatever science believes it is old. No one REALLY knows.
One thing that never gets emphasized enough in science, or in schools, or anywhere else, is that no matter how fancy-schmancy your statistical technique, the output is always a probability level (a P-value), the "significance" of which is left for you to judge – based on nothing more concrete or substantive than a feeling, based on the imponderables of personal or shared experience. Statistics, and therefore science, can only advise on probability – they cannot determine The Truth. And Truth, with a capital T, is forever just beyond one's grasp. • Henry Gee is a senior editor of Nature.
OP, to the tune of Brahmanic calendar.
Somewhere in the universe, there is a a diamond size of Mt Everest.
Once every 100 000 years, a peacock flies and brushes tip of that diamond with its wing feather.
When the diamond is completely rubbed off to nothing - that is one moment in eternity.

That's it..get the mind completely boggled and then suggest that nobody knows anything for sure and then believing that reality is wrong and mythology is right is just easy.

I haven't been able to sleep thinking about this. I don't think my post was fair. You were probably just expressing a very correct idea of just how loooonnngg infitity is. I was thinking that such mind -boggling stuff can be used in apologetics to knock the skepti mind off -balance but I shouldn't have implied that you were doing this and I apologize.
