I'm talking about the people of the world in totality, as a whole...a global consideration.
So including areas where population growth is out of control?
Is this a "more people are seeing the light" thing or just a "more people are being born to Christian households" thing?
Are these numbers specific to adults, who have made their decision whether to follow a specific religion? Or do they include the children in Christian households who don't have a choice yet?
Are other populations concurrently growing - IOW is this just a general population growth? Is Christianity *as a total percentage* still as large a part of the global pie? Larger?
I'd be interested in peeking at a study or two if anyone has one handy. Then I can stop playing GldnRule with questions.

All Theoligical Belief compared to all Theological NonBelief, on a complete global level.
No other factors considered...just raw numbers relative to the total.

I would think non-belief would be gaining ground overall. There are two reasons for atheism, one being reasoning and the other being freedom from indoctrination.

I know it bothers you that the world is becoming MORE religious, and Atheism is diminishing relative to Religion as a percentage of Global Population...so you must search out and point to the low population outliers to assuage your angst...but that doesn't change the FACT that Religion is GAINING and Atheism is LOSING ground in this world.
There were no indigenous peoples in Iceland. First visitors were either Scottish or Vikings in the 8th century.
I think he was speaking of the original inhabitants (Scandinavians) who indeed had their own polytheistic religion.
At least that's how I took it. I could be wrong.
