[color="Navy"]In our past, we've had to learn by following the trails of our ancestors. The beginning of the new year is a time to reflect on our trails of the past so that we can continue to make new trails that others can follow. Take lead in this new year and create new traditions by example.

May your footsteps be filled with happiness, hope, and love, all through the new year and beyond.

Do some Native American groups have winter solstice celebrations or holy days?

I can't speak for all tribes, I can only speak for my own and we celebrate the winter solstice, it is our family tradition. We do participate in the celebration of Christmas but not from a religious perspective.

Greetings dear ones. I can't believe another year is almost behind us. For the new year ahead I wish for you all the peace that comes from a silent midnight snow fall. The prosperity that comes from a steady rain on planted crops. A warm gentle wind at your backs that blows away the troubles of life and brings all the best that life has to offer.

It has been too long since I have come to enjoy the peace of this Sacred Circle. Today is a good day to stop and enjoy the peace of good friends and to forget about silly squabbles over which religion is the best. a person who is secure in his belief has no reason to look for error in another person's beliefs.

Sometimes the most important and best worship and defense of one's beliefs is a quiet cup of coffee among friends that do not place any need upon changing others.

The fire is warm, the coffee is good. Thank you all for this quiet minute.
