Romans 5:12 Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned. [Old Latin Bible]
From Wikipedia:
Augustine believed that the only definitive destinations of souls are heaven and hell. He concluded that unbaptized infants go to hell as a consequence of original sin. The Latin Church Fathers who followed Augustine adopted his position, which became a point of reference for Latin theologians in the Middle Ages. In the later mediaeval period, some theologians continued to hold Augustine's view, others held that unbaptized infants suffered no pain at all: unaware of being deprived of the beatific vision, they enjoyed a state of natural, not supernatural happiness.
So the original teaching was dropped by most Christian sects. Right?
Growing up I was taught that in some way every person born shares in Adam's guilt for committing Original Sin.
Is that true?
Nope.

Is that just?
Of course not.

No. Mormons believe that "we will be punished for our own sins and not for Adam's transgression." What kind of a loving father would punish one of his children for something another child did wrong?
