Many are called, but few are chosen.

It is easier to get through the eye of the needle, than to get into Heaven.

Not really. You just have to accept a bunch of ideas and a book that has no factual proof to it. Seems easier than me fitting through a needle eye.

Its so much deeper than that, and its sad to me that you truly don't know the truth that can set you free.
Go within that clay house of yours and find your maker, then come back and share the glory of the lord.

godspeed,

freedom

I have "found" it before my friend. I was raised in a Pentecostal home and now I am an agnostic! Hallelujah I'm free!

I venture to say you had religion before. Which is definitely not the same as finding that still small sure voice of guidance and fullfillment that God offers all those that seek Him.
Especially if you feel more free now, i know it was only religion. Because only the truth of being lead by God can truly set one free.

godspeed,

freedom

It's felt, its gentle and that's why you must be still and tune out the world in order to hear it, it comes in whisps of knowledge and understanding that are like nothing else.
An open heart and a contrite spirit are required to hear it audibly.

godspeed,

freedom

And in rebuttal please read:

Pre-Trib Research Center: A Brief History of The Rapture

Quote:
"One of the most often cited objections to pretribulationism is that it is a new teaching in church history having only come on the scene in the 1830s. It is often argued that if the pre-trib rapture were biblical then it would have been taught earlier and throughout church history. In the last decade, individuals have found a number of pre-1830 references to a pre-trib rapture. Here is a summary of that evidence."

The latest prediction is now 2012 which ties in with the Mayan Calendar and also harmonises with Nostradamus' prediction of WWIII. I have heard that 2032 is also a date - I will probably be dead by then as many on here will be and in "hell" aka Sheol, aka Hades aka grave.

If however in 2013 - 5 years from now - and if I am still alive and this forum is still up, well I can post a "I told you so post". I may ask my son to take care of 2032 - he should still be around.

But if believing that you will be cloud surfing with Jesus soon keeps you in "la la land" and helps you bury your head in the sand as to the harsh realities of this life - then don't let me stop you.

IMO there IS NO ESCAPE - other than a 6' hole and casket or an urn on a mantelpiece.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment,

Blessings

Edit:

Quote:
Expressions of imminency abound in the Apostolic Fathers. Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, The Didache, The Epistle of Barnabas, and The Shepherd of Hermas all speak of imminency.[3] Furthermore, The Shepherd of Hermas speaks of the pretribulational concept of escaping the tribulation.
That would give credence to Pretereism

Quote:
"Again, [Dolcino believed and preached and taught] that within those three years Dolcino himself and his followers will preach the coming of the Antichrist. And that the Antichrist was coming into this world within the bounds of the said three and a half years; and after he had come, then he [Dolcino] and his followers would be transferred into Paradise, in which are Enoch and Elijah. And in this way they will be preserved unharmed from the persecution of Antichrist. And that then Enoch and Elijah themselves would descend on the earth for the purpose of preaching [against] Antichrist. Then they would be killed by him or by his servants, and thus Antichrist would reign for a long time. But when the Antichrist is dead, Dolcino himself, who then would be the holy pope, and his preserved followers, will descend on the earth, and will preach the right faith of Christ to all, and will convert those who will be living then to the true faith of Jesus Christ."[7]
Need I say more?

The rebuttal lacks meat and even if it was taught in 5th century AD, well then it has been last days for exactly 15 centuries - not a convincing argument. Likely this will permeate for another 15 centuries - or NOT?
