For all those who believe in the rapture. Try you tube and type "project blue beam" in the search window. Watch those videos. Sure, they are probably just for fun, but could be eh? You never know.

"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

Someone has already risen from the dead, Jesus Christ. People hear this and know this but still they do not believe or heed what Jesus has said. The same holds true for the time of the rapture. There will be those left behind who will see it, will know it was foretold in the Bible, but won't accept the truth of what is happening and still refuse to believe.

That's my opinion anyhow. Blessings
it was the first time to read this verse , thank you for sharing it
i know that may be you interpret this verse as a prophecy for death and rising of Jesus , and i agree that you have logic reasons to understand this verse by this way

but it made me wonder about 2 points
first one
if the one whom rised from the dead is jesus , is it mean that he is a prophet , because abraham (pbuh) talking about moses and prophets

second one
it's not necessary for the one who rised from the dead to be jesus (pbuh) himself
we all know that jesus rised the people from thier dead as one of his miracles to his people , although there are some of his people didn't believe in him , can we read the prophecy of abraham (pbuh) agian

He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

offcourse there are jews didn't believe in jesus (pbuh) although he rises for them someone from the dead

Personally, I don't believe you can be saved after the rapture. Because the 'Bride' has already been caught away. But, those who realise their error and have regrets - turning away from their sin and turning to God - they will be part of heaven....but not part of the actual Bride of the Lord. Best not take any chances.......make sure you're saved now!!

With the 2012 date the Bible says we do not know the time or the place. I'm sure God has his reasons for not giving a date. There are only signs to help us. I believe at the appointed time there will be a rapture of the believers. When I see a wonderful sunbeam in the sky I imagine Christ coming down with the sound of a trumpet. Wow. And who really cares the exact date...our mission is to be light and salt to the earth and be a witness of what God has done in our lives. We win others through loving them.
Our church has a motto...it is, "Loving people into life changing encounters with Christ". People need to see that your life is different than the world's standards.

The overall point I was trying to make was this: If people don't want to believe in Jesus as savior, or the rapture, they're not going to. Nothing is going to convince them.

As for the parable Jesus was using, this is my take on it. Jesus was explaining that there was a person in hell and a person with Abraham in paradise. Now, the person in hell wanted someone (anyone) to warn those he knew still living to change their ways to avoid such a place, to which Abraham replied they have been warned by Moses and the prophets (Old Testament/Torah) and they haven't changed their ways. So even if a dead man (any man) would rise from the dead and thell them, they still wouldn't listen. That's my general view of the meaning of that scripture.

However, what I did was take that general meaning and apply it to Jesus. Because you're right. When Jesus walked the earth, he brought back people from the dead, as a sign of his divinity and that he was the savior and even so, people didn't believe him.

The parable itself wasn't about Jesus, but I took the bolded section and applied it to him myself for my position about people accepting the rapture happening (when it does take place). Because in my view, it is true. Even though Jesus rose from the dead and proclaimed victory over death and sin, people didn't believe it then when it happened in the first century and still won't/don't believe it in the 21st century.

Same thing will happen at the time of the rapture. There will be a rapture. Whether it's pre-trib, mid-trib or post-trib is a peripheral issue. What I know the bible says is that believers will be called up (raptured) and meet Christ in the sky. When it does happen people will still not be convinced it is the biblical rapture, even though they will see it with their very eyes.

When the rapture happens I would like to be standing between two non-believers. As I am rising I will grab both of them around the neck. At 3000 ft ask them "Now do you believe?"
