Is it good or bad for us waiting to get all of the rewards we want in Heaven?

Silly. Unless a person kills oneself off, one will wait, regardless of belief. Perhaps you should restate your question?

What do you mean by wait? Well, you are suppose to be working spreading the Gospel of Christ. So, you are not just sitting around twiddling your thumbs.

God is clear on what we should be doing, developing our relationship with Him, spending time with Him, preaching His Gospel and things of that nature.

So, we are not just sitting around waiting.

If you sit around and do nothing, I mean nothing to advance the Kingdom Of God, you probably want have any rewards in Heaven. That's just my opinion.

I am trying to serve God and to live my life for him and to treasure all of the good things happening to me in life, some people have told me that I will be rewarded for my good deeds in Heaven and for all of the good things I've done in life

I would say do a study on how and why God rewards us in Heaven. This would be the best route to go. Don't fully rely on man when they tell you how God rewards, because God is the person who truely knows.

So, I would say do a study. I just looked in the back of my bible and looked up rewards and found alot of verses. But also make sure that you understand why the people are being rewared. They are not being rewarded for nothing, they earned the reward.

The bible says that you will either gain rewards or loss rewards, so research it.

Here are a few.

Luke 6:23, 35, in verse 35 the verse is saying if you love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back, your reward will be great.

So, the flip side to what is if you don't you probably lose that reward, or the reward will be less.

It's not a bad thing. The rewards are courage, strength, love, mercy, forgiveness, anything done selflessly, etc. If you have done those things in your life, you will be rewarded with the same.

My thoughts are these...

Yes God has promised rewards in Heaven. These rewards are a result of our faithfulness to Him while here in this life. That faithfulness is displayed in how we build our relationship with Him (maintaining intimacy with Him that we know Him and He knows us), how we live our lives, how we treat others, and what we have done for the advancement of His kingdom.

If we are just sitting around doing nothing for His kingdom, doing nothing to build our relationship with Him, strengthen it, to learn, grow, and be transformed by His word and for His glory; if we sit around doing nothing but waiting upon those rewards then I believe we have missed the point and will sadly be disappointed upon meeting Him face to face. In fact, we may hear from Him "depart from me for I knew you not".

Our focus should not be on the rewards. While I know God has rewards for us in Heaven, it is not those rewards that I look forward to seeing and obtaining. Moreso, it is seeing Him face to face, falling before Him in love, honor, and worship and my desire is that I will hear Him say "well done, my good and faithful servant". That honestly, is all the reward I need or desire.

But, if I am to hear those words from my Savior's lips, I must be busy doing something here on Earth, other than simply waiting to receive my rewards in Heaven.

Dogs do tricks for rewards. Aren't people any more advanced?

The search for a future Heaven has created a present day Hell. I'm not sure if Heaven is a place with golden brick roads, etc... but I expect to be with God at peace, that's all. I like to try to live a Christian life, but don't dwell on the rewards. God's will for us is probably different than what we want now anyway.

as above so below

there is no "waiting"

by having a relationship with my Creator in the here and now, my life is filled with blessings in the here and now

and since our souls exist for eternity, there are also blessings through eternity

if someone thinks/believes they have to "wait" for blessings....well, they will be perpetually waiting
