I have purchased a transalation of the Dead Sea Scrolls - is that phony too?

Thanks for any insight you can share on this.

As far as the Dead Sea Scrolls, I understand that they corroborate with the Bible in a lot of ways although sections are missing. In regard to the other "books", I have heard that some of them were written by authors during the time of writing and fleshed out to create a book that simulates what existed. Not sure though...that's only what I have heard from other sources.

urban, help me remember, aren't the dead sea scrolls more like portions of a library? Some are scripture (Biblical), some literature, etc?

I saw them here in Charlotte some time ago, and if I recall, it's quite a hodge-podge of different texts. Is that right?
