There's an ancient Indian saying, give an ape a coconut and it does nothing with it, simply hurls it away.

It needs a human to know what to do with it.

Is this your way of saying you are in to self-flagellation?

We do not worship Popes.

I do understand physical self-mortification seems odd to us today and I'm not always sure how I feel about it to be honest. I do think media people are going to tend to sensationalize and not even attempt to try to understand it.

Eeek, night again.

As long as the location is evidently pointing out how insecure you are at sexual competition; or feeling that the decision for occupation is just instead that way.

For or against pre-marital sex?

And here I was about to write up a new thread about the Black Death-era Flagellates after seeing them on the documentary, The Plague. How ironic to now see this.

I wonder about the many priests who abused children, did they whip themselves too?

There's some Muslim sect that I've seen in television reports that have parades with a street full of men who are whipping themselves with some kinds of chains or something to the point that they're covered with blood. This sort of thing is often done in some religions. I also remember seeing several people in Mexico City who were crossing this huge stone paved area that's in front of one of the main Catholic Churches there on their knees which must have been a few hundred yards. This is something I truly don't understand.
