So, I have decided to definitly move to the area when I get my tax return, late Feb, early March. I'd like to be past the suburbs of Reno in any direction, Fernley and Fallon are currently looking good. I'm not much for big cities, but I need cable internet or an aircard from my wireless provider.

In total, I will have at least 12k in cash to cover this relocation. Through craigslist, I have found several trailers for under 5k, as well as bank owned houses that, if I can find a job, I could afford the payments on.

Does anyone have any reviews or insights into trailer parks in the Reno area? Ones to avoid, ones to prefer? I get along great with bikers (I come from a Pagan town, and I know not to mention that to any angels)and meth heads, not my favorite people, I can manage.

I've seen a lot of variation in the cost of lot rent though, from 200-500+ a month, and that seems to be a bit extreme. I am 24, so I know I wouldn't qualify for a senior park, but I'm sterile, and not a big fan of screaming kids, so a family park would be a last resort, but as a bonus, the schools don't matter. Any reviews or links to sites of Reno area parks?

I currently have a sprint phone, and am due for renewal in Dec. How is Sprint coverage in the area? Friends of mine in Lincon, CA love it, but I know that a lot can change in that 2 hour drive.

As there isn't a state tax, would I need to worry about back taxes on the houses? How are property taxes in the trailer parks?

I think these are all the questions and info I can come up with, so thank you for the assistance.

There are 2 mobile home/RV parks next to each other in Fernley in the west part of town. I have driven by them many times but I don't know what it's like inside. They don't look "up-scale" from the street. They are on Main Street and it's not far to walk to stores, restaurants or casinos.

I thought the maps I saw were misleading, I've never seen a trailer park IN a town before, always on the outskirts. I'm not really after quality living, but I don't need tweakers trying to rob me, or cops showing up for music or when friends are over.

Any thought on the ones off of lemmon valley rd? Or is that too vague?

No matter what a lot of idiots say, Sun Valley sounds like something you might like. One third acre lots, and a lot of them are for sale. Prices are cheap right now. PM me for more info. I am not a realtor, I live in Sun Valley.

Sun Valley is not a bad place and I suggest it for someone looking for a quite area that is not to far from the city of Reno.

Fernley and Fallon are quite a bit away. We have very high unemployment, and it's worse in the smaller towns, so Reno is your best bet. There's many trailer parks in the North Valleys, basically everything north of Reno from Lemmon, to Stead, to Sun valley to Panther Valley. They're quiet mostly safe communities. Sun Valley has a reputation as a bad place, but it's a bit exaggerated. Fact is, I'd rather live there than South Central LA or South Chicago or even Brooklyn. There's a few bikers around but nothing real big. We got a biker shooting in Sparks, but those were outsiders. The local biker gangs keep it down low here, mostly Hells Angels. They got a club house in Sparks. This is a pretty safe mellow town for its size.

Notice that folks say "Sun Valley is not a bad place" It isn't, but, it isn't a great place either. It is a low income area with low income people, with the attendant problems with low income areas.

This country has a lot of low income people these days both good an bad.

there are a lot of "High" no pun intended income people. examples. Lohan, Hilton, etc who cause more problems then low income people.

Doesn't change a whit what I said.

First time I drove around Sun Valley, I drove up one of the many dirt streets, along the way I passed one of the hundreds of singlewide mobile homes. Two towhead boys were playing outside naked, mom, another towhead stood watching them wearing a thin cotton frock.

I could have been in Alabam.

Now, my wife worked in Sun Valley for years, both she and I could tell you stories. 40 registered sex offenders in her school zone.
The highest percentage of released inmates of any town in the US.

Check the percentage of people with blackened and missing teeth, tells you something about meth use. And besides, weren't you the person who thought the Afghans were bombing the US?.
