Give some examples of the eccentricities.

I don't want to get too specific, at least yet, because (1) when I do on this site, people often weighted one or two points I mentioned much more highly than others, even when I never implied such; and (2) I'm a collection of a lot of eccentricities.

Someone who's moved around a few metros, including some on the eastern half of the U.S., should be able to easily answer my original question. For the rest of you, it may help if I say to imagine the 5% most eccentric people you know, who aren't clearly mentally ill or criminal, and postulate how well they're socially accepted by Reno-Sparks on the whole.

I can't directly answer, since I don't live here - yet. But, after more than 20 years among eccentrics and diversity run amok in Oregon, I can't wait to get here.

eccentric as in tattoos and piercings? If so, no problem move to midtown. If you wear a top hat and a diaper and ride a unicycle everywhere you go people might be amused but not put off by it; although Reno has a large number of strange laws so an adult wearing a diaper might be against the law. For the most part Reno residents don't even seem to notice other people so unless you are in their face they most likely will be completely disinterested in your eccentricities - but there aren't alot of meetups for eccentrics, you should consider Berkeley for that

I think eccentric will fit in just fine here.. probably just about any kind. We've met all sorts and quite frankly find the variety of eccentric people to be refreshing.

Feel free to PM me and explain your eccentric concerns.... I've seen it all and I will not judge you based on it, i may be able to give an honest opinion about how or whereabouts in Reno you might fit in best.

I can't answer for Reno, but I moved to a small Nevada town, and they have not run me out with pitchforks yet. I'm pretty sure the whole town thinks I'm nuts, and they might even be right
