My daughter and I are seriously thinking about moving to Reno. We both love outdoor activities and nature.
She’s at the age where nightlife and socializing with young people is important as well. She has friends that says that midtown is a really nice, convenient place to live. I’m all for going for long walks, hikes, exploring nature and would prefer to do it simply by walking out the door. We have dogs.
Is there a neighborhood where my daughter and I both would have a little bit of both... nature, some nightlife, close to shops and public transportation ? I’m looking to rent an apartment or perhaps a smaller house. Grateful for any suggestions

The Park lane place area would fit when they finish building.

The developer said last summer that it's a five-year buildout "if we're lucky," so that probably isn't a good option right now.

I drove past there a few days ago. They haven't done much with it yet.

I can think of 2 more areas:

1. Area around Hub cafe near the Truckee river. You have Hub cafe which is good for people watching. You are a few block from nice restaurants along the Downtown River walk district. You have the Truckee river for trail and nature.

2. North Caughlin Ranch around Plumb ln/ Mccarran/ Mayberry. More suburban. There is a nice Walden coffee in a " village-styled" shopping center called Mayberry landing. It is ok but not an urban walkable shopping experience. Lots of beautiful trails with water feature in Caughlin ranch.
