a friend of mine has to get up early to go to his job, and suddenly he finds a 24-hour notice about '6:30 pm - 10:30 pm' for pest control. is this legal? the first time this has ever happened. a few of his tenant neighbors got the same kind of notice. it sounds like anyone who has to sleep should be prepared to have their room entered in the middle of the night.
that sounds reasonable; he'd have to possibly cancel the next day's assignment (he's a substitute teacher) if he wasn't able to turn in early for work. he's a little concerned about this.
ahh, that last line, adjusterjack. it's hard enough for him to even think of negotiating this!
don't know about the less hours thing...he has vestibular neuronitus, so it may be a health issue.
Not seeing anything about that condition that would cause it to be exacerbated by a lack of sleep.
But, it's just one night. Even in a worst-case scenario, he'd be able to get at least 6 hours of sleep. Sure, some people need, want, and/or require more than that on a regular basis (although for some like me, that's an average amount of sleep per night), but again it's just one night.
It seems that if he went down to the office and explained "nicely" about his need for sleep because of his condition, they'd probably be willing to schedule him early in the evening. Doesn't hurt to ask....but make it politely, not demanding.
Thanks for the feedback. his condition is not something he likes people to know about but that's not practical in a scenario like this. he used to work as a security guard and stopped because of sleep issues. i can encourage him with this info for more perspective on that matter.
Also remind him that it's probably better to have a LL that DOES get routine pest control done rather than one that doesn't.
