Bentl: sounds like you are great property managers. I wish we had you here in Phoenix.
The owner of the house is a decent person. We have lived there over 4 years and never had complaints, never was late on rent and always complied to the rules. One thing upset us though while living there earlier this year; we had an irrigation flood that flooded into the house causing mold. The owner went through the insurance company and it was a huge hassle for us. The living space was severely limited. We had access to only half the house for months! I knkw it wasnt the owners fault, but he never once offered to take our rent down for those months. We lived through a flaky repairman that showed up whenever he wanted and never finished the job. So, I think the owner needs to do us a solid and let us have our deposit early. Heres hoping he does what he says he will.

OMG JaredC, I just realized who you are. After all that hassle with the construction, etc., now he wants you to move early? God, what a major pain in the rear this year has been for you lol! I can't believe you sound so reasonable after all the hassles. I can only hope that your next place is fantastic. Best wishes!

NoMoreSnowForMe: thanks for the best of wishes. It has been a tough year, but we endure. Besides, we were already thinking of moving. It has been a discussion with my fiance and I for awhile now. We kinda got tired of living in a run down fixeruper house. But, it just seemed easier to stay. But now, we have little choice. So moving is what we will do.

Did you ask yet about the deposit? You could offer to do a walk thru while your items are still in there but to give him a feel of the condition.

The walk though protects you and give you a chance to 'fix' stuff they may take off of your deposit.

^^ what she said. I'd also tell him you'll be giving him a tour and after that, he can decide and get back to you.Move stuff away from the wall so he can get a good idea of the condition.

Yep, going to ask the LL to do one next week. Other than a few minor issues, the house is in good order.
