The "proper" way is to do this sort of task at TURNOVER...
when you're between tenants and when the unit is empty.

If that isn't practical (for whatever reason)..
then you do the Chinese fire drill thing with the furniture.
And YOU pay for the labor to do that work.

Your apartment, your carpet, your bill. If your carpet hadn't stretched, it wouldn't be happening at all.

I once had to have my rug stretched,
and my barber took care of it without even moving the furniture.
