If nothing else put it on craigslist for $1500. Someone who knows more about cars will buy it and fix it.

Definitely, get rid of it. My friends mother had two of them, one a 1997 and a 2003. While neither of them had engine trouble, both had transmission problems around 100,000. More then likely, you will fix the engine and the tranny will go out soon. Forget it and get the Toyota.

hope this helps

A 2004 with that many miles, is only worth about $2,000, and if you put $2,400 into it, with the high miles already on it, ain't going to increase the value, with the market for new cars today, get a better deal on buying a new one though. $13k for a 2008 is high. It's a buyers market. You should be able to bargain the hell out of anything you want. You are a high powered HR negotiater, deal, negotiate, bargain.

Some are quite humorous.

I know what you mean traveler...just today my only car dies and looking at 600 to have it fix. My job depends on my car, there's no public transportation around and I feel like my life has just ended.
