While walking down the street in Chicago with my eldest aunt a few days before the 1948 presidential election I heard the following from a group of urchins:

Truman's in the White House waitin' to be elected;
Dewey's in the garbage can waitin' to be collected.

My aunt told them that they should be horse whipped. She was also one of the 25% of Irish Catholics who voted for Nixon.

We got one TV channel out of Buffalo and one out of Toronto...that was it- I remember a jingle...It was a slogan for Buffalo at the time "Boost Buffalo, It's good for you"....Then as little kids we drove through Buffalo and could not believe the smell..we would do our own take on the jingle..."Boost Buffalo, it stinks for you" -early childhood memory I thought I would share.

Schmidt's beer in Philly used to sponsor the Phils games back in the fifties and early sixties. This was their jingle:

Schmidt's'll ring the bell for ya!
Schmidt's of Philadelphia!
Schmidt's the full taste
Schmidt's the full taste
Schmidt's the full taste beer!
