How many of you who have been active in the Retirement Forum are more or less or equally likely to follow threads (and answer questions) about all sorts of things relating to aging/retirement (ranging from Medicare to movies) if they're moved out of the Retirement Forum. Robyn

Are you going to add a poll?

If anything related to retirement is not in the Retirement forum, per se, I would not see it, so could not comment . . . would probably miss 95% of such threads.

But I think they want "new meat," and don't care about us "oldtimers."

I added it - kind of screwed it up the first time around. Can you see it now? Robyn

I have a hard enough time keeping up with the 3 or 4 city data forums I generally read.

So the answer is No.. I'd rather see them here than moved to various sub-forums.

For instance, if I want to post about our battery-rechargeable bikes and how it's good exercise for older people who can't pump a bicycle uphill, I don't want to see it moved to biking... because it pertains to retirement and older people issues.

I hate to say this, but your poll questions are not clear . . .

I will not vote in the poll (because I think it's confusing and will result in skewed results), but I will answer, "I would be less likely to post in threads that do not appear in the Retirement forum."

Thank you for trying.

To make sure we are reading the question right, a recap:

if they're moved out of the Retirement Forum

Correct?

I have been reading the retirement forum because I enjoy the wisdom and different perspectives here. If certain topics are started here then are moved to other forums, then they will be harder to find and follow.

I'd be more likely to post on topics that often pertain to retirement, but not exclusively so, if they were not in the retirement forum--mainly because I'm not retired.

I read about 3 forums regularly and another couple a few times a week or less frequently and I am not willing to go read more. I followed one thread over into the new Healthcare forum and then, based on the few threads I read there, stopped entirely. My least favorite aspects of CD are things like the Politics forum or the Relationships forum - I really don't need any of that cr*p.

CD has been making me fairly unhappy lately, between the new and arbitrary mod in my state forum and what has been going on here.

My thoughts? Many people seem to post only to this forum. I think that's illustrative of how so many seniors isolate themselves from much of the world they live in. Get out, visit the politics branch, travel, your home city forum. Most of those discussions impact seniors. Be a part of life, don't give up so easily.
