Hmmm, and another hmmmmm. Wait better yet BADA BING

So why the blame on the unions regarding pensions?
Addressed in post #34 somewhat - clearly this problem does not impact all pensions.

Addressed in post #23. I have no anger as my pension and retirement plans are stable.
By the way I do not work for a US company. I work for a European company, my employers are European (and that is documented in my history on this forum). If anything, I feed off of globalization and offshoring , traveling to India and China quite frequently, and have done very well from it I think my own "bada bing" is now appropriate here.

Addressed in post #23 and #26. I thought we've moved past such hysterics and hyperbole in this discussion.

Now, have I gotten everyone? Leave anyone out?

It is not addressed in post 34 NY's pension existed prior to public sector unions. So how are unions to blame? The real problem is the State (s) decided to stop contributing and use the money elsewhere- generally to buy votes.

It is not how the residents of other states feel about your pension but how the citizens of the state it originates from feel. So for me as a transplant my neighbors for better or worse have no vote.

Had to chime in.
No the private sector affords bonuses, merit pay, stock options and more.
Public employees receive none of that.
This is a CONTRACT.
Im disgusted with politics today in that seemingly only those in the private sector believe their contracts must be enforced. The rest they pretend are not contracts.
What is happening today is shameful.

Corporate welfare and the exportation of jobs and hiding money overseas is what is killing this economy along with the fact that Corporations pay little if any taxes. It is NOT THE FAULT of teachers, policemen, people who work for the courts or remove garbage

My wife and I both have a state pension and we also get our ss checks.. Does that make me a bad person? It isnt our fault that we plan to and will suck off of public funds every month for the rest our lives. We educated your children for you.
