After spending months reviewing age-restricted communities in AZ our two favorites are Quail Creek and, in the Phoenix area, Sun City Festival. We prefer the floor plans of Del Webb over those of Robson. I now some will argue that Robson build quality is higher than that of Pulte/Del Webb. I've looked at both and think they are about equal although I think Robson does a better job selling their quality.
I just discovered there are two Del Webb communities south of Tucson-Sonora and Las Brisas.
I've only viewed them on a realtor's web site and would like to know your impressions of these communities. Anyone living there or having visited them? They are priced considerably lower than Quail Creek although the hoa fee is a bit higher.
We're not golfers so don't care about that but we do want activities such as hiking, quilting, perhaps classes through a University.
I looked only at Del Web at first, but I found problems with the management of the community and construction problems(generally not the home, but community related construction). My guess is that they are not living up to their past reputation. However I would think each community has to be judged on its own so try and do a lot of research as it is hard to identify problem areas. I am not in a Del Web but if I was not here I would probably be in one a few miles away. One of that communities problems was sink holes, some of which I saw. Remember you are looking for a life style.
