I've been a customer since high school and still am. Most of the clothes are the same as they were then, just right for the dignified lady and gentleman of any age. I wouldn't mind if they dropped some, however. I always wear a shirt with a collar and full-length pants and wish other men would do the same.

Do you shop at Bean or similar? Do you like dignified dress as well? Do you remember mail order from the Alaska Sleeping Bag Company or Norm Thompson or Sulka? Do you wear the same styles you wore in 1960 or before?

No, but I do have some rock concert t-shirts from the late 1960s, if that counts.

Been wear hawaiian shirts, a colorful shell, and jeans on and off since the 60s. Or maybe the 70s, not quite sure exactly when I started wearing them. That's as close as I get.

Most of my clothes are L. Bean and that includes the shorts I wear during the summer. Some Pendleton's find their way into my closet as well.

I always shop at stores which offer similar things as I always like to try them on. I have found from one to another they can vary as to fit some besides material from just color change.I often find some like Columbia to have more consistent quality.

I've shopped LLBean for 45 years. Still like the styles. However, I am now in Texas and find the selection for the summer wear not as good as the winter. Every boot, down jacket, futon, wool sweaters, sleds, etc. have come from LLBean. I feel they should give us loyal customers a little discount.

They do. I get all kinds of special deals.

But some short-sleeved shirts, chinos, and walking shoes.

I'm sure this will get moved into politics, but however long it lasts here, L.L. Bean has been officially inducted in the International Labor Rights Forum's 2010 Sweatshop Hall of Fame.

Something else to be vaguely aware of is that some of their clothing is treated with a synthetic pesticide called permethrin.

If you can get past these things, I guess the clothing is cool.

Started ordering from LLBean in the 70s. Haven't ordered much in the last 15 or so years, tho - but the look is still about the same. The family likes the outdoor sportsman type of look - especially when in the mountains. For summer, we all wear about the same type of thing we have been wearing for over 30 years . . . for the guys, deck shoes, chinos or nice bermudas, cotton button down shirts, sleeves rolled up . . . or sometimes, one of the Hawaiian type shirts. For winter, the guys like Carhartt-type items.

I still have a down vest I ordered from LL Bean in the late 70s!!!

I like ducks and wellies year round, but moreso for the mountains than here in the burbs. I don't tend to be outdoors as much in the muck and mire here in south Charlotte, lol.

I would say my family dresses very similarly to the way we dressed in college - it is a collegiate, prep look - and we fill in w/ other fun things - contemporary "fashion" and accessories. A nice blazer and jeans w/ a good shirt takes most us anywhere casual - or switch out w/ khakis . . . easy way to dress, stuff is classic and lasts forever.

I still wear my Frostline Kit and Camp 7 gear for cold weather (circa 1970).

Have a basement full of Pendleton fabric. (for 'future projects').

Still have and wear lots of clothes from HS and Jr high years.

But then my car is over 40 yrs old too... ( it has one new seat cover )
