Turned in my badge, credit card and keys. Signed a bunch of papers and that was it. Moving van comes on Monday. Can you see the grin on my face from there?
Way to go! I well remember my last day almost eight years ago. I made it a short one - dumping emails, packing up personal items, saying my goodbyes etc. - and have never looked back. I'd given six month's notice in the hope there would be some succession training I could provide a younger employee as I was in a highly specialized position. They didn't even address it until my last week at which point I told them to take a hike. Too little, way too late. It felt good as did walking out that door for the last time.
