I learned from cd forums about the free 2017 Parks Canada Discovery Pass early in the year. I filled the online request form and receive the pass in the mail today

How will you visit the VAST Canadian National Parks? They look VERY HUGE and little access. (we may need a new thread to discuss)
Shoe leather, Floatplane, Helicopter or canoe? Not sure I can traverse Canada to see all their parks, but will try to fit in as many as possible (while waiting for age 62 and my US National Park Pass)

I am sick of the corrupt govt changing the rules midstream. I'm 60. I was looking forward to finally getting a cheap pass. But instead they rip us off.
When I started paying into Soc Sec retirement was 65, now when I'm old, they make it 67. Eff them!

It's not realistic to expect the price of anything to stay fixed forever. And even at the new, higher price the pass will be a very good deal.
I'm confused about the expiration date of June mentioned above. I thought they were lifetime passes.
Also, I cannot find any places close to me that I can go and apply. I will have to do it my mail. For ID they say they will accept a drivers license or passport. I don't have a passport so I would need to send a copy of my drivers license which I am not really comfortable doing. I guess it's because I hear so much about fraud and identity theft. Even though it isn't the actual drivers license there is a lot of personal information on there. Has anyone used any other type of ID they found acceptable?

They are. The price to buy one is going up in June. That's the expiration being referred to: the current price of $10 will expire in June. The new price will be $80. Regardless of how much you pay for the pass, it will be valid indefinitely.
My husband got his a few months back but we have not opened the pass yet. Is this transferable from car to car? I don't want a sticker.
It's a card - credit card size - that the passholder can use in any car. The passholder has to show ID when presenting the card for park admittance.
The passholder doesn't even have to be in a car. I've used mine when entering parks on a shuttle or when walking into some smaller parks and historical sites.
