I am not there yet, but in one of the SUP paddling groups I have been to a few outings with, there are at least 4 that show up a lot. 2 are well into their 70s. They tend to take a leisurely pace and socialize a lot, but put in a few miles. I keep hoping I have found the magic answer. I couldn't handle running; ended up getting knee surgery. Walking a long way is a possibility as is bicycling. My focus is obviously outdoors, but some of the communities have gyms that get a lot of use (note - I have only visited people at maybe 4 or 5 over the last few years).

I’m 32. Lifelong weightlifter. I’ll keep that up as long as I am able. I hike a lot in WNC. There are a lot of flat walking trails here. I may have to back off to that.
Leg strength is one of the biggest markers of his stable you are. When I was 18 and lifting seriously, I squatted 565 lbs on free weights. I can’t do anywhere near that now, and my legs do not feel as stable.
I'm just shy of 65 and recently started riding a bike for half an hour in the morning. About the same time I started eating better. Low carb, no sugar or snacks after supper. So far I've managed to lose eleven pounds in around four weeks. I could stand to lose fifteen more and then try to maintain that weight.
My husband is 66 and has always been a workout guy. I attribute it to years in the Army. He used to be a runner until his knees couldn’t take it anymore. Now he does weights and cardio on either an elliptical or a treadmill.
Not quite 65 yet, but it took a year to recover from breast cancer treatment and since then we’ve moved to Arizona. Before it got too hot I walked twice a day totaling 1 hour 10 mins. Now I swim twice a day for a total of 1 hour 20 mins. I also go to phys therapy each week for another month, and do my phys therapy exercises daily. I’m on a paleo diet which I really like. Drink lots of water . I wouldn’t say I’m very fit but I’m hoping by the end of the year I will be.
Just wondering how fit people are and what kind of things they do to get in shape or keep in shape.
I'm not that old yet, but will be in a few short years. I have been a gym rat for over 30 years - I don't plan on stopping that routine.
