Well I know I am jumping the gun as Haloween has yet to happen (don't care, don't do). Kids get enough sugar. But its sad to think we may pass on going to our daughters this year for Thanksgiving. All the family goes there (nice relief for me after all those years of doing it). I haven't brought it up with her so not sure if she won't have it this year. I thought this pandemic would be done by then, but now not so sure.

We had been thinking about going to Ohio to visit relatives for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. But I think we are going to put that idea on hold as it seem like things will not be appreciably better in the virus situation for quite a while. So it will just be the two of us at home for a quiet Thanksgiving.

All of my family are local. I would say Thanksgiving goes on normally.

I'm debating on it, but I think we'll probably pass on holidays this year.

My housemate and I usually go our separate ways for the holidays to our respective friends and families. This year we will stay home, no houseguests. We keep telling each other, we haven’t been this careful for so long only to up our risk now. We are both lucky in that the other people involved for both of us are playing it safe too, and not urging us to visit. The only one I really regret is my elderly father alone in assisted living, but we hang out for hours every day over various technologies, which seems to content him. And he’s the one telling my brothers and me, stay home, do not travel in a pandemic.

My SIL is antsy and wants to come visit for Thanksgiving. I told her that if they came there would be no "go here, go there. Do this and do that" this year. It would be the one restaurant I go to and then the beach..that's it.

I haven't heard back from her yet.

Why be part of the continuing spread? So that's why we decided no Tday or Christmas get togethers for us this year. It's a small sacrifice and we will survive without it.

We're getting pressure from our kids to travel from Colorado to the SF Bay area for a Christmas visit.

But I'm not willing to get on an aircraft yet. With about 70 people on a plane, the probability that some are infected is quite high. Yes, they have HEPA filters...but an infected person can blow aerosols back and forward for several seat rows. No thanks!

Driving 1200 miles means many stops for food and hotels. That creeps me out.

I'm really angry that our totally incompetent government has caused this damn virus to proliferate.

Staying put for Thanksgiving but hoping for end of December getaway. Even that is not looking too promising.

But but, it's just a hoax and will be gone by Easter 2020
